Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Crown Prosecution Service have formally closed the investigation into Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali, dropping all charges related to an alleged rape case due to insufficient evidence. Haider, who had been arrested on suspicion of rape in Manchester during the Pakistan Shaheens tour and released on bail, is now cleared and free to leave the UK. The GMP stated that if new information emerges, the case would be reviewed again. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Haider is no longer under any legal restriction and reiterated its commitment to follow due process under its Player Code of Conduct before taking any internal action.
