Anime sees record advance bookings; IMAX/4DX shows lead packed theatres.

‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’ released in India on September 12, 2025, and posted a strong opening day net collection of ₹3.2 crore, according to Sacnilk. The advance bookings were exceptional (estimated ₹14-18 crore already in pre-sales), and the film is expected to see an opening day gross in the range of ₹17-20 crore across all formats. IMAX and 4DX showings stood out with high occupancy cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Kochi saw IMAX screenings (Japanese and English versions) cross 80-90% capacity. In contrast, regular 2D shows (Hindi, Telugu etc.) had lower turnout in many centers. This marks one of the biggest anime openings in India and is seen as a breakthrough for the genre in mainstream cinemas.
