bihar launches ‘rajaswa maha abhiyan’ to correct land record errors
Door-to-door campaign helps citizens update names, khata numbers, and other inaccuracies via portal.

The Bihar government has launched the Rajaswa Maha Abhiyan, a statewide campaign running from August 16 to September 20, 2025, to help citizens correct errors in digitized land records (Jamabandi). Residents can update details such as names, khata-khasra numbers, area estimates, inheritance, and plot divisions through designated camps in Panchayats. Revenue officials, special-survey amins, and panchayat representatives will visit households and conduct camps with laptops and internet access to register corrections via the Bihar Bhumi Portal, using OTPs for validation. The initiative aims to rectify longstanding discrepancies such as anomalies in ancestral entries, partition mutations, and missing records. Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh emphasized the campaign's importance in resolving disputes and improving land governance across the state. However, the campaign's progress has been disrupted by a strike among revenue staff, prompting warnings of disciplinary action if disruption continues. ([Economic Times], [Patna Press], [News])
